The 2025 Southeastern Writers Association Conference will take place on St. Simons Island, Georgia, from June 6 - 10, 2025.

This immersive 3-day conference joins aspiring and seasoned writers as they connect over their love of literature.

2025 Conference Faculty

  • Wulf Moon was fifteen when he won the national Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the same contest that first discovered Stephen King, John Updike, Joyce Carol Oates, and a host of iconic names in the arts. He sold the story that same year to Science World (circulation 1,000,000 copies per issue), making it an impressive first professional sale.

    Since then, Moon has won over fifty writing awards, including multiple Writer of the Year awards and Best Writing Workshop awards. He is the author of the runaway bestseller How to Write a Howling Good Story, and he's the founder of the Wulf Pack Writers group that has helped launch the careers of countless emerging writers.

  • John B. Edwards started a 40-year career in law enforcement as a uniformed officer, next he worked statewide for the GBI as an undercover agent, smuggling investigator, homicide investigator, and major case task force commander. He retired from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation as the Special Agent in Charge of the Statesboro field office. He retired his active police service as a chief deputy sheriff.

  • Don Vaughan has written professionally for 48 years, and has worked as a full-time freelance writer since 1991. He has published nearly 2,000 articles, columns, and stories in scores of print and online publications ranging from MAD Magazine to Encyclopedia Britannica, and has written, co-written, ghost-written, or contributed to nearly 35 books on a range of topics. Don is a contributing editor to Writer’s Digest, and founder of Triangle Association of Freelancers, one of the largest organizations in North Carolina devoted to all aspects of fiction and nonfiction writing.

  • Kevin Steverson is a retired veteran of the U.S. Army. With 81 published works including foreign translations), he writes in the Science Fiction, Fantasy, Noir, and Post Apocalyptic genres. He is the author of many international best selling novels, including the Salvage Title Trilogy, picked up for feature film and now in development. His Salvage universe now has thirty novels in it by him and other invited authors. Kevin is also a published songwriter with 10 songs he had a hand in writing, recorded and released by artists in Nashville. These days he can be found in the foothills of the NE Georgia mountains writing his next story or song.

  • Lori B. Duff, a former lawyer and municipal court judge, has transitioned into a successful writing career. Her journey to becoming an author was marked by a passion for storytelling and a desire to share her experiences. She has won numerous awards for her writing and is the author of several published works. Duff's blog on the Huffington Post showcases her insights and perspectives on various topics. Currently, she is focused on her ongoing writing projects and continues to inspire others with her unique voice and captivating narratives.

Cancellation policy

MAY 16, 2025:

  • Cancellations through midnight on May 16 will automatically have the full amount paid applied to the next Conference.

  • Optionally, a refund of the amount paid minus $55 ($40 membership dues and $15 administrative fee) is available by email request only.

MAY 17 - JUNE 1, 2025:

  • All cancellations between May 17 and June 1 will automatically have 50% of the amount paid applied to the next Conference.

  • Optionally, a refund of 50% of the amount paid minus $55 ($40 membership dues and $15 administrative fee) is available by eMail request only.

AFTER JUNE 1, 2025

  • Cancellations after June 1 are ineligible both for application to a future Conference and any refund.

  • Extenuating circumstances will be evaluated by the SWA Board President on a case by case basis.
